Futu-re, based in Nagoya, Japan – Japan’s automotive heartland – was established in 2014. The company’s core business is software development and related activities for the automotive sector’s autonomous vehicle push. Tackling multiple industry demands such as vehicle development, systems development, AI consulting and research.

Futu-re is part of a four-company group which has offices in Japan and Europe, pooling the best overseas and domestic talent via a long-standing relationship with Tokyo University and more recently the Netherland’s Automotive Campus.

Our current client portfolio consists of tier one and tier two automakers in the logistics sub-sector, along with a joint-venture with Tokyo University for the ground-up development of an autonomous vehicle aimed at particular niche markets predominant in Asia.

Role

Due to growing demand, we are seeking to expand our control systems engineering team. We have systems engineer positions available for projects in the heavy-vehicle/logistics segment and our in-house autonomous vehicle development project. If you think the current environment for road transportation and logistics can go further, or perhaps you want to focus on aiding mobility in smaller communities, then you may just be the perfect fit for our team.

Our projects are located across Japan and often require travel, as well as the possibility of relocation to the project area; this position would suit a person that enjoys seeing new places. We apply a flexible working schedule and remote work is supported once the right knowledge and training has been obtained. We are a multi-cultural group with team members from all over the world.

Someone with experience in C++, MATLAB Simulink, ROS or similar software is required for this position. We appreciate team players that possess the ability to work independently – our company promotes individual decision-making.

Applicants with experience in the automotive industry and a strong passion for the industry will be looked upon favorably. The same goes for those with control systems development experience.

 

Working time:

 09:30-18:30 (discretionary labor system).

Remote work available.

 

Vacation/Holidays:

 Weekends, public holidays and an annual paid leave system of 10 days.

 Work location:

 Nagoya Head Office.

This job will also feature frequent business travel.

Access: 

Nagoya Office: 5 minutes’ walk from Chikusa Station on the Higashiyama Subway Line, or Kurumamichi Station on the Sakuradori Line. 5 minutes’ walk from JR Chikusa Station.
