Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and assess the company's compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards and report to senior management.
• Manage regulatory license applications, filings, inspections and audits.
• Stay current with changes in regulatory requirements and industry best practices and advise senior management on compliance-related risks and opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement compliance measures and controls, including customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, AML, FCC and sanctions screening.
• Conduct compliance training and awareness programs for employees and partners.
• Maintain effective relationships with regulators Japanese FSA, BOJ, industry associations and other stakeholders.
• Investigate and respond to compliance-related incidents, issues and inquiries.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in business, law, finance or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in compliance management, with a focus on either traditional finance (Fixed Income - Bonds, Rates, Credit derivatives - preferred) or digital assets trading/digital asset exchanges.
• Strong knowledge of Japanese Securities / Asset Management/ Foreign Exchange Laws & Digital Assets regulations in multiple jurisdictions is preferable.
• Experience with regulatory license applications, filings, inspections and audits of Japanese FSA, etc. is a plus
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently, with a startup / entrepreneurial mindset who can build from scratch.
• Native-level in Japanese, business-level in English
